Khadi Mahotsav has been celebrated throughout the Nation from 2nd October to 31st October under the theme “Khadi for Nation, khadi for Fashion”. This initiative was taken up by Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) and MoMSME, Govt. of India to honor the Khadi concept development during the period of freedom fight by Mahatma Gandhi.
The main objective behind this Khadi Mahotsav campaign is to sensitise the public and the youth towards Khadi and village industries and its benefits to our economy, ecology & women empowerment and to encourage them to support the growth of Khadi to help achieve Atmanirbhar Bharat. Under this one month long campaign several activities were conducted which include; Khadi Mahotsav e-pledge, jingle contest, quiz contest, street play and selfie wearing authentic Khadi and local products.
one of our progressive Implementing Agencies under SFURTI clusters of KIIT-Technology Business Incubator, Bhadrak Agro Jaggery Cluster participated in this campaign by mobilizing the local farmers and artisans by taking the collective pledge. More than 50 cluster members took oaths to support and use khadi, village industries, and local products and to spread awareness among the community in society. This shows their inclination towards nation-building through the development of craftsmanship and rural enterprise development.
