NA, TA, and IA attended a working committee meeting at the Urnati jute crafts cluster

Urnati Jute Craft cluster located at Erabanga village of Gop block, Puri was set up under the SFURTI scheme of MoMSME in the year 2020. Being a women-led cluster, it has set a benchmark for other rural clusters as well as rural women beneficiaries despite all the hurdles and shortcomings.

A working committee meeting was successfully executed at the cluster premises on 27th Jan 2024 where Mr. Amar Mahapatra from IEDO (Nodal Agency), Mr. Barada Prasanna Sahoo, and Mr. Manoranjan Maharana from KIIT-TBI (Technical Agency) and Ms. Swati Tanmaya Mishra from Utkala Bikash Abhijan, Odisha (Implementing Agency) had joined. Ms. Sabita Nayak, Governing Body member of Urnati Jute Trust (Special Purpose Vehicle of this project), and other members of the SPV were also present during the meeting.

The agenda of the meeting was to restructure the constitution of the SPV, monitor the cluster progress and the fund utilization status under different heads such as Soft intervention, working capital, and machinery, and propose a plan of action for future events upon the mutual decision of all the stakeholders.

Overall, the meeting was a fruitful one under the leadership of Mr. Mahapatra. He encouraged all the stakeholders present over there to work dedicatedly to make it a successful rural cluster through their collaborative effort.
