Despite of many challenges, the civil work for Telkoi Mahua and Tamarind cluster in Keonjhar, Odisha has been completed. The cluster got the ministry approval under SFURTI, MoMSME in the year 2020. It aims to make different value-added products of mahua and tamarind such as; mahua candy, mahua laddu, mahua squash, mahua ready-to-serve drink, tamarind pulp, tamarind powder, tamarind juice etc. and improve the socio-economic condition of beneficiaries of the cluster region through this project.
A team comprising Mr. SibabrataRath – representative of Institute of Entrepreneurship Development (IED), Odisha (Nodal Agency), Dr Barada P Sahoo and Mr. Manoranjan Maharana – representative of KIIT-Technology Business Incubator (Technical Agency) and Mr. Laxmidhar Soren – GM-DIC visited the cluster on 3rd Jan, 2024. The team was assisted by Mr. Janardan Sahoo – Cluster Development Executive, Mr. Sumantra Mishra – representative of IA, Mr. N Gangadhar Reddy – representative of SPV and K. Laxminarayan – civil contractor at the CFC site. The team examined each aspect of the civil works in accordance with the work order and resolutions established by the working committee. Following a concise tactical analysis and extensive discussions with various stakeholders within the cluster, the civil handover to the Implementing Agency, facilitated by the civil contractor, was successfully executed. This marked a significant milestone for the cluster, showcasing the collaborative efforts of NA, TA, and IA. Additionally, the Technical Agency (TA) conducted a thorough verification of the machinery at the Common Facility Center (CFC). This step was pivotal in advancing towards the next objective of the cluster – the installation of machinery and the completion of the hard intervention component of the project.
The cluster is well-positioned to attain operational status within the next six months, employing a mission-oriented approach to contribute another significant accomplishment to the achievements of the SFURTI vertical at KIIT-TBI.
