The Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA), stands as a beacon of excellence in the realm of rural management education and research. Established in 1979 by Dr. Verghese Kurien, commonly known as the “Father of the White Revolution in India”, IRMA has consistently championed the cause of sustainable and equitable development, focusing on the upliftment of rural communities through innovative management practices and social entrepreneurship. IRMA recently organized a three-day Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS) transformational workshop, running from the 3rd to the 5th of November 2023. This dynamic event took place at the esteemed National Academy of Broadcasting and Multimedia in Bhubaneswar.
The event was inaugurated by Sri Samarendra Sahu, Advisor, KIIT-TBI on the first day. Professor Saraswat Biswas, Professor Hippu from IRMA were present on the occasion. Sri Sahu addressed the trainees and shared his long-standing experience in working with people on the ground who bring about positive impact in society and the need of such regular training and capacity building programs for to enhance their skill. He also emphasized on the inevitability of innovation and technological intervention so that the programs being implemented would give utmost outcome.
As a session of the workshop, approximately 40 representatives of IRMA visited KIIT Technology Incubator on 4th November 2023. This visit offered participants a rare opportunity to immerse themselves in the entrepreneurial landscape and deepen their understanding of it. The session commenced with a plenary speech delivered by Shri Samarendra Sahu, Advisor (KIIT-TBI), which was then followed by insights from Mr. Jayanta Mohanty, Head of Social Incubation vertical and startup leaders. The startups engaged in an interactive session with KIIT-TBI incubates, including Larkai and Bariflow, who shared their entrepreneurial journeys and demonstrated their products. The event concluded with Dr. Bhaskar’s comprehensive tour of the KIIT-TBI incubation facilities.
This insightful visit to the KIIT Technology Incubator not only broadened the horizons of the IRMA representatives but also illuminated the path towards a deeper understanding of the entrepreneurial ecosystem. The engaging sessions, interactive exchanges, and comprehensive facility tour collectively contributed to an enriching and enlightening experience, leaving a lasting impression on the participants.
