The beneficiary verification of Pipili Mushroom Value Intervention Cluster was done by the representatives of Nodal Agency and MSME- Development and Facilitation Office (MSME-DFO) scheduled on 3rd and 4th April, 2023. Ms. Rojaleen, representative of Nodal Agency, Shri B.P Behera and Shri. A. Modi, Asst. directors, MSME-DFO scrutinized the beneficiary details; Aadhaar details, bank account details and addresses in the presence of beneficiaries. All the arrangements were made in different villages to assemble the beneficiaries and to assist the officers. A total of 650 beneficiary data got verified covering two blocks; Nimapada and Pipili of Puri district. The officers visited the mushroom spawn unit, mushroom farms of few beneficiaries and the land where the Common Facility Centre (CFC) is proposed to be built.
The proposed mushroom cluster, thus has achieved one milestone on its pathway. The cluster is being promoted under SFURTI (Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries), the flagship scheme of MoMSME with SAMPARK as the Implementing Agency and Institute of Entrepreneurship Development, Odisha (IEDO) as the Nodal Agency. KIIT-TBI being the Technical Agency of this SFURTI intervention has widened its sphere to one more rural geography to benefit the core beneficiaries. Various innovative value-added products of mushroom, such as pickle, soup powder, mushroom powder, pasta, noodles and canned mushrooms are planned to be produced at the Common Facility Center (CFC). The cluster is envisaged to bring overall development in the cluster region by improving the baseline income level of the mushroom growers by approximately three times.
