Following successful Lean Awareness programs in Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand, KIIT-TBI now extends its initiative to Haldwani, Uttarakhand, deep in the heart of the Himalayas. Haldwani is regarded as the financial hub of Uttarakhand, serving as the state’s centre for commerce, trade, and industrial activities.
KIIT-TBI has successfully conducted one-day LEAN awareness programme under MSME Competitive LEAN Scheme (MCLS) on 18th of March 2025 at Hotel Raj Palace in Haldwani, Uttarakhand. To boost the productivity and efficiency of MSMEs, the awareness programme was organised by MSME Development & Facilitation Office (DFO) for the benefit of members of Himalayan Chamber of Commerce & Industry and other MSMEs.


The event initiated with the welcome note by Mr. Subash Chandra Kandpal (Assistant Director, MSME, Haldwani) who offered warm greetings to all the dignitaries namely Mr. Sanjay Kumar Diwedi, Assistant Director, National Productivity Council, New Delhi; leadership from the Himalayan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (HCCI)—President Mr. Ramesh Chand Binjola, Vice President Mr. Umesh Dalakoti, and Secretary Mr. Manoj Dagar. Mr. Ashutosh Kumar Singh, representative from KIIT TBI; and Mr. Slok Kumar from EIPL had also joined the programme.
The programme witnessed participation of more than 40 MSMEs and other stakeholders. After the welcome note, Mr. Ramesh Chand Binjola, President of Himalayan Chamber of Commerce & Industry addressed the gathering and appreciated the organisers for such awareness campaign. Mr. Diwedi presented a framework of the scheme, discussed various stages of implementation, as well as his previous experiences with the implementation of LEAN schemes in other MSME units.
Mr. Ashutosh further elaborated the benefits of Lean Scheme, role of KIIT TBI as lead consultant organisation and the formation of Groups of Enterprises to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Mr. Samarendra Sahu, Advisor at KIIT TBI virtually addressed the gathering, and reiterated his commitment for the cause of MSMEs and motivated them to form Group of Enterprises. Mr. Debashis Tripathy, Senior Cluster Network Manager from KIIT TBI also virtually joined the programme and motivated the MSME units to successfully implement LEAN and avail the benefits of the scheme. Mr. Slok, towards the end, also contributed substantially.
