KIIT-TBI organizes 5-days consultant Training programme under MCLS in collaboration with National Productivity Council

KIIT-TBI has successfully conducted the “5 – days Consultant training programme” under MSME Competitive LEAN Scheme (MCLS) – a flagship scheme of MoMSME, GoI in collaboration with National Productivity Council (NPC), marking the first step towards a smart and lean future.

The programme was kicked off on 25th November, which witnessed a participation of 30 intellectuals from across Odisha and Chhattisgarh pertaining to various domains ranging from academics to industry. The training program was designed to transform professionals into LEAN consultants, empowering them to drive MSMEs toward adopting lean manufacturing systems. By enhancing productivity and minimizing waste, this initiative aims to fortify the MSME sector, catalyzing substantial growth in the nation’s GDP and solidifying its competitive edge in the global export market.

The program was inaugurated in the esteemed presence of prominent dignitaries from the National Productivity Council (NPC), including Sh. Avijit Nayak, Regional Director; Sh. Shyama Prasad and Sh. Roshan Kujur, Deputy Directors. Adding further distinction to the event were renowned LEAN experts Dr. Sushant Tripathy (Professor) and Dr. Deepak Singhal (Associate Professor) from KIIT University, along with Dr. D.P. Sahoo (Professor) from Sri Sri University. Sh. Samarendra Sahu (Advisor, KIIT-TBI) extended a warm and heartfelt welcome to the distinguished dignitaries and enthusiastic participants, marking the commencement of the impactful five-day event with his inspiring opening address. Following this, the session featured impactful and inspiring speeches from all the distinguished speakers, culminating in a heartfelt vote of thanks by Dr. Tripathy, who extended his best wishes to the eager participants for a successful and rewarding training journey ahead.

Following the inauguration ceremony, the training sessions commenced with an interesting 5-hour session held each day over the course of five consecutive days. The seasoned LEAN experts endowed the crowd with an in depth understanding of lean manufacturing system and various lean tools such as; KAIZEN, 5S, 6-Sigma, JIT, Poka-Yoke, Kanban etc. The sessions were meticulously designed to equip the participants with requisite skill sets to implement LEAN practices effectively in various industries throughout India. The sessions were very enriching with active communication and meaningful exchanges between the participants and experts.

On the last day of the journey, on 29th November, a virtual session was conducted where the 30 participants at KIIT-TBI along with 60 participants from NPC, New Delhi took part. During the virtual session, experts from NPC threw light on Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) technologies. This engaging interaction not only enhanced awareness but also emphasized the importance of sustainable practices in fostering a greener and more efficient future. Furthermore, as part of an assignment, the participants were guided by the expert – Dr. D.P Sahoo to present a roadmap outlining their future lean journey as a consultant. The session was followed by an examination, a critical component of the training programme, where the participants would be evaluated and the successful candidates would be awarded with a certificate from NPC and MoMSME. 

The officials of NPC along with the experts shared their valuable insights and experiences to motivate the participants. The meeting ended with a vote of thanks by Sh. Sahu where he encouraged the participants to bring a revolution in LEAN ecosystem and elevate the MSME sector to heights.

The explosive success of the programme captures the futuristic approach and commitment of KIIT-TBI towards empowering the Nation not only in social sector but also in manufacturing.
