Amrut Foundation corn cluster based at Kukudakhandi, Ganjam, Odisha has moved a step forward in project implementation. The cluster has successfully conducted exposure visits cum production training program of SPV members to various food processing industries which include; Infinity Khushi Pvt. Ltd., Noida, Eton Foods Pvt. Ltd., Lucknow, Pasta plant, Noida and Haldiram’s, Noida from 6th June 2023 to 12th June 2023 as a part of the Soft Intervention (SI) activity.
The cluster has got approval under SFURTI (Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries) – a flagship scheme under MSME in the year 2020 promoted by Kalinga Youth Association as the Implementing Agency (IA) and KIIT-TBI as the Technical Agency (TA). The cluster is in the advanced stage of implementation. Around 40 progressive beneficiaries/ members of the SPV were part of this visit. The members visited the extruded snacks-making unit, Corn syrup processing unit, and pasta plant where they got the opportunity to interact with industry experts and learned about the functionalization mechanism of the food processing industries.
Overall the program was a great success and the cluster is planning to conduct more numbers of exposure visits cum training sessions in the future where all the cluster beneficiaries can take the benefit out of it.
