Empowering MSMEs with Productivity Boosting Strategies- KIIT-TBI expands its Lean

Consulting reach to Western Odisha

Backed by the successful ventures in Bhubaneswar and Bilaspur, KIIT-TBI has now expanded its reach into the western region of Odisha, where KIIT-TBI has organized an awareness session to mobilize and assist MSMEs in adopting the Lean Manufacturing Practices.
The awareness workshop, a program under MSME Competitive (LEAN) Scheme conducted on 18 th Jan, 2025 at Ganapati Hotel, Bargarh witnessed participation of 32 MSME units pertaining to diverse domains. The event commenced with a gracious welcome from Shri Roopam Dash, President of JCI Bargarh United, to Shri Shyama Prasad, Deputy Director of the National Productivity Council (NPC), Bhubaneswar, and Mr. Suramya Mishra, Manager at KIIT-TBI. Followed by the welcome address, Shri Shyama Prasad outlined the various phases of the LEAN scheme’s implementation process and highlighted its numerous benefits for MSME units and other relevant sectors, while Mr. Suramya Mishra, a LEAN expert, elaborated on the steps of GoE formation. Besides, Mr. Suramya also briefed the audience on the applicability of various Lean tools in enhancing productivity, ensuring quality, and optimizing utilization of resources all while reducing wastes.

After the informative session, Mr. Roopam Dash, President of JCI Bargarh United requested the MSME owners to take part in a Q&A session, where the MSME owners raised several queries. The delegates from NPC and KIIT-TBI thoroughly addressed each singly query, which also motivated the MSME units to be a part of the Lean Revolution. Later on, the MSME units received the Lean Pledge certificates and became an official part of the MSME Competitive (LEAN) Scheme. The session was meticulously managed by Project Director Mr. Binod Agrawal from JCI Bargarh United.

At the end of the program, Mr. Akhil Agrawal, Immediate Past President of JCI Bargarh United honored the delegates from NPC and KIIT-TBI with mementos and Mr. Roshan Agrawal, Secretary of JCI Bargarh United expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the delegates and the participants.
With the success of this initiative, KIIT-TBI is now poised to extend its LEAN consulting services to other regions of the western Odisha.
