MSME-DFO visits Mahima Bamboo Crafts and Agarbatti Cluster for the inspection of cluster Status

 A team of two officials from MSME-DFO, Cuttack namely; Shri. S.N Dash – Deputy Director and Shri. D.C Mishra – Assistant Director visited Mahima Bamboo Crafts and Agarbatti Cluster based at Chirulei village of Dhenkanal district on 29th May, 2024. The objective of the visit was to inspect the status of civil, machinery, electricity, progress in Soft Intervention activities and other related areas. The team was accompanied by Dr. Barada Prasanna Sahoo, Mr. Manoranjan Maharana and Mr. Suramya Mishra from KIIT-TBI, the Technical Agency for the cluster. Shri. Kabir Lenka, representative of the Implementing Agency i.e. Seva Bharati and Sesadev Nayak and Kabita Lenka, members of the SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle) extended a warm welcome to the officials present at the CFC (Common Facility Center).

The cluster, established in the year 2019 is producing different value-added products from bamboo such as; lamps, vase, baskets, home decors, agarbatti etc. to empower the local artisans and sustain the local economy of the cluster region.

The MSME-DFO officials along with the officials from KIIT-TBI thoroughly inspected the civil work and machinery specifications installed at the CFC for the intimation of the same to the Ministry. It was followed by an in-depth discussion with the representatives of IA, SPV and Technical Agency in presence of the officials from MSME-DFO on the future road-map, redressal of the current bottlenecks and the pending assignments at the cluster.
